Boydens shines at charity five‑a‑side tournament in support of St Helena Hospice

by Philip Boyden

Boydens recently laced up their boots to take part in the Business Fives charity five‑a‑side tournament, raising vital funds for St Helena Hospice. The event brought together local businesses for a day of competitive football, camaraderie and community spirit. Our Boydens team put in a spirited performance, making it all the way to the Europa League final and narrowly missing out on penalties.

The real winners, however, were St Helena Hospice. Thanks to generous donations and participation fees, the tournament helped raise much‑needed money to support palliative care across the region. Throughout the day, our goalkeeper Sasha grew in confidence, making some spectacular saves that kept us in contention. Colleagues including Euan Shepherd, Roman Thomas, Nathan Hey, James Whitear and our very own Philip Boyden showed passion and teamwork – proving that property professionals can hold their own on the pitch!

This charity football tournament was more than just a sports fixture; it highlighted how local businesses can come together to support a meaningful cause. St Helena Hospice relies on community fundraising to provide compassionate care for patients and their families, and events like Business Fives make a tangible difference.

Boydens is proud to have played a part in this uplifting day and we look forward to future opportunities to support St Helena Hospice. Thank you to everyone who donated, attended and cheered us on. If you’d like to contribute, you can still support St Helena Hospice via our fundraising page.
