House prices
House prices across the UK fell by 0.5% in October with the annual rate of growth now 4.5%, down from 4.8% in September. The East Midlands (7.0%) and East of England (6.1%) are currently the areas experiencing the strongest level of growth, while growth across London slowed to 2.1%.

Inflation rose to 3.1% in November, its highest level in nearly six years and the first time it has been above 3% since March 2012. The Once for National Statistics said that airfares and computer games contributed to the increase. Despite the increase it is unlikely interest rates will rise this month.

There were 105,260 residential property transactions across the UK in October according to the HMRC taking the total this year to over one million. October sales are 9.2% higher than a year earlier.
