INFORMATION
The site is being sold by the local authority, Tendring District Council. Currently no planning consent has been allocated to the site however the council is keen to work with the right developer in having the site transformed into an exciting residential area and will listen to development proposals maximising its potential and then run through the planning application.

PLANNING STATEMENT

As mentioned, currently no planning is granted on the site however the Tendring District Council are keen for the site to be developed and will work with interested parties in obtaining planning for an agreeable proposal.

'Site is allocated for residential development in both the adopted and emerging Local Plan. The adopted Local Plan includes an indicative figure of 36 dwellings across the car park and isolation hospital site, but we are aware that the site has been marketed in the past for 48 dwellings. Given the site's location on the main public transport corridor, its proximity to the local food store and the relationship with Hanover Court and the football ground, a higher density scheme of apartments/flat would be acceptable on this site. Alternatively an extra-care/assisted living complex would be an acceptable use of the land.'
