Vicky Harvey Branch Manager

Vicky is our Braintree Branch Manager who is responsible for ensuring all staff in the office are fully trained in their roles, enabling them to work to their full potential. Another key role for Vicky is to promote the name of Boyden’s within our community to gain new business and recognition. She is also responsible for providing an informed, professional service to both potential landlords and vendors, and to be fully aware of our potential tenant market. Vicky helps to make both the letting and sales process as painless as possible for our clients by listening to their needs. Vicky is proud to work for a family business which makes it possible to tailor our service to suit their requirements. Keeping up to date with current legislation to safeguard our landlords and to ensure they provide all that is necessary for a smooth tenancy is a key part of Vicky's role. Vicky has worked in Estate agency since the early 1980’s. Initially Vicky worked within a company of surveyors, (block management) moving onto sales in the London market, and then into lettings in the 1990’s. Since then she has worked for both family run businesses and large corporates. Vicky moved to the Essex area from Suffolk where she lived for many years. She has now settled in nearby Halstead.

Barry Hayes Branch Manager

Barry is the Branch Manager for both our Clacton on Sea and Frinton on Sea branches. He joined the industry in 1987, working for an independent estate agent in Clacton On Sea. Barry has worked for Boydens for over 20 years. Barry has covered areas from Frinton to Colchester, an area in which he grew up and hence, knows extremely well. His role is to oversee the running of the coastal branches, helping to keep our clients happy whilst expanding the business. Barry has a Diploma in residential estate agency and has been a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) since 1998. Barry has a sporting prowess in the region given that he won player of the year for Frinton Youth FC for many seasons.

Natalie Abrahams Sales Manager

Natalie leads our Colchester sales team and is your Colchester contact for Superior Homes by Boydens. Natalie is extremely approachable and always ready to lend a listening ear. With her extensive experience she understands how frustrating buying a house can be and how important communication on every level is. Natalie has worked at Boydens for more than 16 years, starting as a Saturday trainee and progressing to Colchester Sales Manager. Her family have built a third generation carpentry business in the North of England and so from an early age she was educated in building and property. Before coming to Colchester Natalie spent seven years working overseas in the property market. Her partner and his family are long established Colchestrians and she herself has been involved in many community events including Colchester’s half marathon. Over the last sixteen years Natalie has built up a client base which is strongly based on repeat customers and recommendations. Natalie is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).

Angela Jeffery Branch Manager

Angela is the Branch Manager for Sudbury and moved to the town in 1979 and attended school there. She has worked in the area for a number of years (her children also attended local schools) and so she has an excellent knowledge of the Sudbury area - if you need to know about which areas to live in, schools, doctors or bus services, Angela can tell you! She has worked for Boydens since 2004, becoming Sudbury Branch Manager in 2009. Angela is in charge of sales, lettings and property management for the branch. She attends valuations, taking time to explain everything very clearly to our clients so that they feel reassured and fully understand the process. Angela is ARLA (Association of Residential Lettings Agents) qualified and is also a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA)

Carole Roberts Property Manager

Carole is responsible for all maintenance issues via our Kelvedon branch including routine inspections, check ins/outs and inventory updates. Carole aims to keep tenants happy whilst, at the same time, ensuring that the landlord's property is well looked after. Carole has lived in the area for over 20 years and so she has extensive knowledge of the market and the area she covers. Carole is a great believer that you should treat people as you would wish to be treated yourself. Trust is a key aspect of 'The Boydens Way' and this is something Carole believes in passionately as she often spends time in tenants homes (often whilst they themselves are absent) and so it is vital our clients know their home and privacy is fully respected. In her spare time, Carole loves spending time with her two sons and socialising with family and friends.

David is the Managing Partner of Boydens and has extensive experience in the industry having joined the family business run by his Father in 1976. David's vision for Boydens has always been to lead from the front, keeping our customers happy and improving customer service wherever possible. This approach has resulted in the rebranding of Boydens and the development of a new Customer Service Charter to move the business forward in the future. David grew up just outside Colchester and has gained an immense amount of local knowledge and experience over the 40 years he has worked in the business. David is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and is actively involved in all areas of the business - often carrying out commercial and land valuations. In his spare time, David enjoys golf and walking with his two working cocker spaniels. David also enjoys watching football at both Colchester United and Ipswich Town as well as skiing and sailing.

Clare Brown Residential Sales Negotiator

Clare is hugely experienced in the Clacton on Sea estate agency scene with over 21 Years experience and has worked in a variety of roles culminating in becoming a Branch Manager in Brightlingsea. Clare's local knowledge is unsurpassed and, coupled with her industry expertise she guides our clients through a stress free purchase/sale. Clare always aims to be the best she can be at her job and exceed customer expectations by providing a service of excellence. Clare was born in Clacton and lives in the area and attended both primary and secondary schools locally. Clare completed a year course for a GNVQ in Business and Finance. She started her career in estate agency age 17 in Clacton as an office Junior. Clare joined Boydens in 2010 where she was part of the successful Frinton Branch as a Sales/Letting Negotiator. Upon Clare's return to work after maternity leave, Clare moved to John V Story in Clacton (which had been acquired by Boydens) and therefore returned to her roots in her hometown branch. Clare dedicates her personal time to her family. She has a young son and enjoys walks with her family dog and retail therapy as well as listening to music and the occasional run when she gets the opportunity.

Emma Slater Sales Manager

Emma was born in Sudbury and has settled her own family in the town so has extensive knowledge as an established member of the community. She is able to provide valuable assistance when clients are looking for advice on services and facilities, and has a great deal of experience of market and local trends. Emma is vastly experienced, having begun her career in estate agency in 1991 as a Sales Negotiator and progressing to become Branch Manager, prior to starting a family in 1996 and returning to the same company in 2001. She subsequently took the branch to award winning levels and was responsible for three branches. Emma's role is to run an effective sales operation in the Sudbury branch, through from canvassing and prospecting for new business, conducting valuations, listing new instructions, marketing, viewings and securing sales and monitoring the sales progression process through to completion, whilst maintaining vendor and applicant care and contact. Emma is also the Sudbury branch contact for our premium property service 'Superior Homes by Boydens'. Emma is careful to empathise and understand the individual needs and requirements of the client and seeks to reduce the associated stresses involved with the buying and selling process by way of explaining matters with clarity and honesty and staying in regular contact. Samantha Franklin Lettings Negotiator

MARLA

Samantha is a Lettings Negotiator, based in our Braintree Office. She is involved with progressing lets from beginning to end, finding suitable applicants and keeping all parties informed. Samantha has worked for Boydens for over two years. She moved to Braintree when she was 11 years old, went to the local High School, Tabor Academy and recently moved to Halstead and so has in depth local knowledge of the Braintree area which is key when dealing with our lettings clients. Samantha is currently going through the process to gain industry qualifications - the ARLA technical award having just one more unit to pass before being fully qualified.

Brian Purvis Residential Lettings Manager

Brian is hugely respected in Colchester for his knowledge of the town and of the industry given that he has been in the estate agency business for more than 27 years and was born and bred in the town. Brian's role is to oversee the day to day running of our Colchester lettings operation. He carries out valuations and viewings and liases with landlords and tenants to advise in the best traditions of our customer service principles. Brian is extremely well known in the town and has an unsurpassed knowledge developed over the years benefiting our clients on a daily basis. In his spare time, Brian loves to watch football and rugby and is a keen supporter of Ipswich Town. He is a keen family man who lives locally with his wife and three children.

Lynne is vastly experienced in the estate agency business having begun her career in the late 1980's and so has seen the variations within the property market on numerous occasions. Lynne has always worked in the North Essex area, including Dovercourt, Frinton and Colchester and grew up in Great Holland. She currently resides in Kirby Cross, so she has unsurpassed knowledge of the local area. As Assistant Manager of the Frinton Branch, Lynne heads up the Frinton sales department (including Superior Homes by Boydens) carrying out valuations, viewings and negotiating on sales. By providing a professional and efficient environment, Lynne helps our clients to feel confident that we are acting on their behalf in a competent way. Sales progression is an important part of Lynne's role in assisting both buyer and seller throughout the legal process so they are being kept fully updated. Lynne is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and also a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) making her well qualified to be advising the clients on all aspects of the house selling and renting process. Having worked in the industry for 28 years Lynne has gained a thorough knowledge of ALL aspects of estate agency. Lynne loves to travel and has spent time in Thailand and Brazil. Paul Buck Head of Lettings

Paul is Head of Lettings for Boydens whose role involves the day to day management of the lettings team across all of our six branches. In addition Paul reviews new and existing revenue streams as well as looking at ways to grow the business and further enhance the Boydens customer experience. Paul is responsible for ensuring all our staff are kept completely up to date with the regular changes in legislation that the industry is currently experiencing. In addition, Paul is charged with reviewing procedures and services to ensure a stream line and efficient service is provided to all. Paul joined Boydens in 2015 and has been in the industry for over 15 years. He gained his Association of Residential Lettings Agent (ARLA) qualification in 2001 and his National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) qualification in 2013. Paul has lived in Essex all his life and has worked for local property agents throughout Essex. In his spare time, Paul loves outdoor activities and is a father to two boys.

He was educated at Tendring High School in Thorpe-le-Soken and Frinton and so knows the area exceptionally well. John has extensive experience in the lettings industry stretching back more than a decade although his early ambition was to be an Actor! He partially succeeded with appearances in film and tv commercials but chose to put this on hold for a more steady income. John helps Boydens build our lettings business by establishing good relations with both tenants and landlords and maintaining excellent knowledge of the legal system in all aspects of the Lettings industry due to the fast approach of change that is now upon us in the housing market. John enjoys working in the Frinton on Sea area and attended school locally. As a friendly face within the local community, his approachable nature helps him to communicate well with everyone. John's formal qualifications include a Mortgage Exam and Lettings qualifications from APIP and MARLA, industry’s regulatory body. All who know John are well aware that he does like a bargain and is a bit of an expert in buying and selling a wide variety of goods online.

As Boydens lettings negotiator for our Clacton branch, Matthew is responsible for increasing our management portfolio in a role which encompasses all aspects of lettings and property management including registering applicants, arranging viewings, listing properties to let, negotiating offers and fees and talking to new and existing clients about our services. Matthew has worked within estate agency for just over 5 years. Matthew has lived in Clacton for 23 years and attended high school in the area where he completed GCSEs and A Levels. He is currently in the process of completing the Level 3 Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management with ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents). Matthew lives with his fiancé and has a chocolate Labrador to take on long walks. In his spare time, he likes to play the guitar and relax at home.

Paul Roberts Property Management Assistant

Paul is an Inventory Clerk, based in our Braintree Office and carries out routine inspections, check ins/check outs and deals with reported maintenance issues for our lettings property portfolio. Paul assists our clients by providing them with a detailed description of the property they are renting and helping to solve any maintenance issues during their tenancy. Paul has lived on the outskirts of Braintree for his entire life and attended secondary school in the Braintree district. Having only worked in Braintree, he has an excellent understanding of the local area. Paul is currently studying towards earning his Technical Award in inventory management and in his spare time is a keen football supporter enjoying going to watch Colchester United.

Katie Wood Residential Sales Progressor

Katie is responsible for liaising with solicitors, estate agents and mortgage brokers in the chain to make sure the sale and purchase can run as smooth as possible. Katie has lived in the Clacton on Sea area for over 20 years and has worked in estate agency for 10 years, working her way through the ranks from office junior to senior negotiator most of this time working within the Tendring area. Katie has taken the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFOPP) technical award for sales sections 1 and 3 I aims to take levels 2 and 4 so she can obtain the full award. In her spare time, Katie enjoys shopping and socialising with friends and family. She especially enjoys taking her 6 year old niece to London to treat her to the finer things in life such as taking her to shows and to afternoon tea.

Darren is hugely experienced having spent over 29 years mainly in corporate Estate Agency and having lived within the Tendring peninsula for best part of 50 years. He has great local knowledge of the area, as well as knowledge of the industry. Over the course of Darren's career he has dealt with many difficult situations that the minefield of house selling and purchasing can throw at a client and so he is the perfect person to guide our clients. Over the course of his career, Darren has kept up with the latest legislation and training courses which have seen him work his way from junior negotiator to Senior Branch Manager.

Katherine is in charge of Property Management for both our Frinton on Sea and Clacton on Sea branches. As part of her role, Katherine carries out routine inspections, checkouts, maintenance and inventories and prides herself on her proactive and professional service. Katherine grew up in the local area and joined Boydens in 2010. Katherine has a great passion for animal rescue and actively works in her spare time as a volunteer.

Nadine Hicks Lettings/Office Assistant

Nadine joined Boydens in 2016. She is responsible for the smooth running of the branch and is especially focused on the administration elements for our Landlords and tenants and also carries out viewings and inspections. Nadine is new to the industry but has lived in the area for most of her life and so has a good knowledge of the area and the amenities nearby. She is reliable and trustworthy, outgoing and friendly. In her spare time, Nadine loves socialising and meeting lots of different people as well as keeping fit, dressmaking, hairdressing and reading.

Laura Pattinson Assistant Lettings Manager

Laura has worked for Boydens for more than ten years and deals with both new business clients and existing clients in our lettings business. Laura can be found on the front line of our lettings operation in Colchester and can be found registering applicants looking for property as well as generally promoting the business. Laura helps to reassure our clients during a stressful time that renting their property is the right thing to do. With her extensive knowledge she is able to advise tenants and Landlords of the process that will happen and when. Having lived in Colchester all her life and worked in the industry for more than twelve years, Laura is exceptionally well placed to advise our clients as she has worked in various areas of the business at Boydens including office junior, secretary, contracts administration assistant and then negotiator. Laura holds the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) technical award.

Amy's role is to help the sales process move smoothly in order to put offers forward and negotiate the best price for our clients. With more than 6 years’ experience in customer service, Amy is well placed to put her knowledge to work by providing a great level of customer service with high professional standards. Amy has lived in Kirby Cross for the past 10 years and attended Tendring Technology College in Thorpe and Frinton and has always spent a lot of time around the surrounding area as family live close by. Amy has a passion for Lawn Tennis and currently plays at the Frinton Lawn Tennis club for the ladies team. She is competitive when she needs to be and is most proud of winning one of the club championships in her category. Amy enjoys travelling to broaden her understanding of other countries and cultures. In the summer of 2013 Amy took up the opportunity to work abroad in the Greek island of Kos, spending two months there working as a waitress which she found a great experience in learning how to interact with a variety of nationalities and ages.

Katie completed a year at The College at Braintree studying BTEC Business (obtaining Merit Level 2) and attended school at Alec Hunter Academy. The key function of Katies's job role is to provide a friendly approach to all clients and manage their properties accordingly and with respect. Katie helps ensure that our clients are kept fully up to date throughout the whole sales process whilst taking every opportunity to learn about the industry to gain knowledge and experience as she progresses to become a successful Sales Negotiator.

Joy Sanders Holiday Letting Administrator

Joy became part of the Boydens team in Frinton in 2002 when she joined having moved to the area from London. Her role ever since has been to build up the holiday lettings side of the business (including the rental of beach huts which now total more than 40 along the Sunshine Coast in Essex). Joy has unrivalled knowledge of the local area and events and is perfectly placed to help holiday makers and landlords alike with all aspects of their property rental whilst ensuring that rentals are smooth and straightforward. Joy has helped to build the holiday letting business, gaining trust and respect from our landlords over the years whilst ensuring that holiday makers return again having had a great holiday experience.

Nicole Stopp Assistant Property Manager & Beach Hut Sales

Nicole assists our Senior Property Manager in Frinton by providing administrative support for all aspects of day to day maintenance, tenant and landlord requirements. She heads our successful and growing beach hut sales department, which is a growing area of Boydens sales activity on the Essex coast. Nicole grew up and went to school in the local area an still lives locally. She has been part of the Boydens team in Frinton on Sea for more than 13 years, performing a variety of roles over this time.

Kenny Guningham-Hale Sales Negotiator

Kenny is responsible for arranging viewings on properties, negotiating offers, registering applicants and dealing with general enquiries within the office. Another key part of his role is in providing feedback to our clients with viewings that have taken place. As a 'people person', Kenny always looks to ensure his clients enjoy their time when dealing directly and to make sure that he provides accurate information when being asked questions. After recently buying his own property, he can relate very well to the stress that can arise when buying a property. In his spare time, Kenny is a keen football fan and is a season ticket holder at West Ham United. He also enjoys snowboarding, Formula 1 and Touring Car racing.

Deri Purll Sales Negotiator

Deri is a key part of our busy Colchester sales team and is responsible for liaising with clients, property viewings, bringing in new clients, retaining clients and making personal connections. Deri prides himself on being organised, honest and hardworking and always trys to go the extra mile, taking time to listen to our clients needs. Deri has two years experience in the industry and has lived in the Colchester and surrounding area since he was born. He currently lives near Manningtree. In his spare time, Deri enjoys going to the gym and playing football.

Renting out your property can be stressful, so keeping our clients fully up to date on viewings and progress will put their mind at rest, and that is exactly what Debbie does. She is responsible for liaising with new and existing clients, carrying out viewings of properties and registering applicants. Having lived in Colchester for 18 years and worked in the industry for 8 years, she has a great deal of local knowledge. Debbie started as a Saturday Lettings Assistant, but over the last few years has covered more throughout the week. In view of this Debbie has gained a great deal of knowledge in the 8 years she has worked at Boydens. Debbie has built up good relationships with both clients and colleagues and is known for always being enthusiastic and helpful. Debbie has two sons who adore football and so she can often be found on Saturdays and Sundays on the touchline. She is also an avid Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Amy Laimbeer Lettings Negotiator

Amy is part of the Colchester Lettings team. She is a key contact in the lettings process and helps our clients by registering applicants and also booking and accompanying viewings. Amy has worked in the industry for just over a year and previously worked in both Colchester (where she also attended college) and her home town, Dovercourt and so has a good understanding of those areas. She is now looking forward to building her experience of the lettings industry with Boydens.

Lydia Woods Lettings Negotiator

As Lettings Negotiator, Lydia's key role is to provide a friendly approachable attitude to our clients when in the office and on appointments whilst also demonstrating knowledge of the industry to clients - especially in the fast-changing world of lettings legislation. Lydia has worked in the lettings industry since leaving further education and is a friendly personable character who offers a positive attitude to our customers making them feel at ease. Living just outside the area in Brightlingsea, Lydia's parents used to bring her to Frinton during the summer to spend time at the beach. Living in a coastal town she totally understands what it is like and appreciates the benefits of living by the sea. From a very young age Lydia been involved in many activities within the community including taking part in many community performances such as pantomimes and designing the t-shirt for the Brightlingsea music festival. Lydia loves dancing and was part of her school dance academy, performing in many different shows and competitions around the country. She also had her own dance club at the local primary school where she lives for many years whilst at secondary school. She loves dogs and has competed in many agility shows including the Tendring Hundred Show.

Raina Rogers Secretary

Raina is the branch administrator for Frinton on Sea and is a key part of the smooth running of the branch as she supports the sales, lettings and maintenance departments. Raina has lived in Frinton, Walton and Holland on Sea and was educated in Frinton and Thorpe so she knows the area exceptionally well. Raina has worked in administrative roles for other estate agents and as a sales negotiator in Clacton on Sea and so she is well versed in the workings of the industry.

Philip works in our Colchester branch and deals with both Residential Sales and our growing Commercial Property portfolio. He is the fourth generation of the Boyden family to be working in the business. Paul Buck Head of Lettings

Paul is the Head of Lettings for Boydens whose role involves the day to day management of the lettings team across all of our six branches. In addition Paul reviews new and existing revenue streams as well as looking at ways to grow the business and further enhance the Boydens customer experience. Paul is responsible for ensuring all our staff are kept completely up to date with the regular changes in legislation that the industry is currently experiencing. In addition, Paul is charged with reviewing procedures and services to ensure a stream line and efficient service is provided to all. Paul joined Boydens in 2015 and has been in the industry for over 15 years. He gained his Association of Residential Lettings Agent (ARLA) qualification in 2001 and his National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) qualification in 2013. Paul has lived in Essex all his life and has worked for local property agents throughout Essex. In his spare time, Paul loves outdoor activities and is a father to two boys.

Cheryl Cox HR/Administration Manager

Cheryl has a vast knowledge of the property industry stretching back more than 28 years. She has worked for Boydens for more than 26 years in a multitude of roles including Lettings Negotiator, Assistant Lettings Manager, Contracts Administration, Office Manager and has also dealt with Block Management. Cheryl deals with HR matters including staffing, recruitment, complaints, rent chasing and legal matters and oversees administration departments and office administration. Cheryl was born in the area working for another local company for a year before joining Boydens. Cheryl is an Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) member and prides the long-standing relationships with clients she has built up over many years.

Ann Hallam Company Accountant

Ann is Company Accountant and oversees all accounting functions at Boydens. Ann ensures that when clients come to Boydens to manage their property, be they a landlord or Leasehold company, Accounts Department look after the finances of the property collecting rents, service charges and other receipts and accounting to landlords and leaseholders at regular intervals. Ann has lived in North Colchester for 28 years and is a Chartered Accountant qualifying in 1984. She holds a BSc (Soc Sci) Hons in Economics and Accountancy from Newcastle University and previously worked in Ipswich, Manchester and London for a large accountancy firm.

Paul Howe Marketing & PR Manager

As Marketing & PR Manager, Paul is responsible for marketing strategies and developing strategic plans. Paul's key role is to help Boydens raise its profile and help our customers to achieve a wider exposure when placing their properties up or sale or rent. This includes managing Boydens social media and website channels, editing Boydens Home Magazine as well as seeking new PR opportunities. Paul has extensive experience in branding, website development, social media and public relations. Paul previously worked in the maritime industry and has a marketing, communications and Public Relations background and has studied with The Open University and The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Paul lives in Harwich with his wife and two daughters and enjoys reading and being involved with his wife’s successful online ceramics business.

Tina Dove Property Administrator

Tina is responsible for the Tenancy Administration for all offices in the Boydens network. She is responsible for the administration of the Tenancy Expiry Systems, both for managed & FTO lets, including serving of the Statutory Notices, collating Landlord and Tenant replies and negotiating terms of renewals. Tina's role is key to the smooth running of Boydens extensive lettings portfolio and is involved with setting up tenancy extensions, booking check outs for tenants who are vacating and sending out relevant letters. Tina is a key contact for both landlords and tenant to ensure a smooth transition on renewals, relets and new tenancies. Tina has worked in the lettings industry for 8 years and has lived in Colchester since 1994.

Patrick Martin Senior Inventory Clerk

Patrick is one of Boydens most experienced members of staff and has worked for Boydens for almost 30 years. Patrick has lived in the Colchester area for 44 years and having been in the Army he knows Colchester and the surrounding area very well and so is in a position to pass on expertise in the form of knowing what the issues are that people moving into the area need to know. During his near three decades working for Boydens whose reputation has been built on trust and reliability, Patrick has attended many professional courses on property management throughout the years. He also holds the Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP) qualification. Patrick has been the Branch Chairman for his Regimental Association for 27 years which involves helping soldiers retiring from the Forces to settle into civilian life. He also helps to arrange social and military functions.

Patricia Field Senior Property Manager

Patricia is responsible for the day to day running of the Maintenance Department, dealing with queries, arranging repairs, dealing with insurance claims, instructing contractors and passing their invoices for payment and covering for the Manager of the department in his absence. Patricia has lived in Colchester since 1987 and started working at Boydens in 2000, having previously lived in London. Patricia is a keen Football fan supporting Arsenal FC and loves going to live music venues.

Will Parrick Head of Leasehold & Estate Management CIHCM

Will leads our Leasehold & Estate Management Team, ensuring that our Property Managers are running their sites effectively and up to standard, together with taking on some of our larger sites himself. He ensures our Property Managers have the support in place to help them deliver in their role. Will is a believer in a strong customer focus and a ‘hands on’ approach and enjoys joining his team at meetings giving him the opportunity to speak to our customers face to face. Will has lived in Colchester all his life and has worked in property for most of his career. He started out in conveyancing, worked as a Property Manager managing sites locally (Halstead to Chelmsford via Colchester) and in social housing as a housing officer for Colchester. Will has also worked in customer service for Colchester Borough Council and so has a hugely varied range of experience in property supplemented by excellent local knowledge and a strong foundation in customer service. Will is a Member of Chartered Institute of Housing and holds a Foundation Degree (Distinction) in Housing. He has previously been a Community Housing Officer and a Customer Service Team Leader for Colchester Borough Homes. In his spare time Will enjoys amateur dramatics and is a multi-award winning local amateur actor.

Alex Kane Senior Property Manager

Alex works closely with our Head of Leasehold and Estate Management Department focusing on staff training, business development and new business enquiries. Alex also manages the most demanding developments of our growing portfolio, which range from Grade 2 listed buildings to luxury apartment blocks with concierge. Alex has experience in overseeing major works/section 20 and is fully up to date with the latest Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. As part of Alex's role he regularly attend AGMs, prepares service charge budgets, carries out site inspections, and prepares maintenance plans. Alex is currently working to become fully qualified under the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM). Alex joined Boydens in 2014, shortly after graduating with a BSc Building Surveying degree from Brighton. Having received training on identifying building defects, our customers can be assured that their assets are being looked after properly. Alex has built up very strong working relationships with our clients which have resulted in a service built on trust. This removes the worry from our clients as they can safely handover the responsibility of running their buildings to us. Alex was born in Colchester and raised in Coggeshall until the age of 7. His parents then moved out into the countryside near Felsted, where he was educated. Alex's familiarity with the local area helps him relate to our customers and their needs.

John Lamm Property Manager

John is responsible for co-ordinating and managing all services and maintenance contracts and for communicating with clients and leaseholders in line with contracted management agreements. He carries out regular site inspections, sets client budgets, chairs AGM’s and, in the day to day running of a site/block, is the first point of contact when any issues arise. John has been in the property business for over 12 years in one form or another. He has lived in the Frinton/Kirby Cross area for 28 years and started property developing in 2004 until 2010 and then moved to become a Property Manager for a private letting company whose clients were solely Ministry of Defence personnel. He remained in this role for over 4 years. Before starting at Boydens John was a Leasehold Property Manager for a leading national provider of housing for people aged 55 and over. Having worked in different areas of the Property Business John has built up a great understanding of many of the issues faced on a day-to-day basis from customers/clients and how to deal with them. Having great customer service and an understanding of what your clients need are key to being successful in Property Management roles - qualities which John holds in abundance. In his spare time, John enjoys eating out as much as possible and going on holiday.

Tom Bartlett Property Manager

Tom began his property management career in 2012 when he stepped into the role of Assistant Property manager for a multi-national Student housing provider whilst studying at university . Using the skills and knowledge gained over a two year contract and wanting to experience the residential side of property management Tom took the post of Property Manager for Leaders in which he oversaw the full cycle of a portfolio of 200 rented properties. With a driving desire to develop his knowledge and progress into Block Management, Tom joined the Leasehold and Estates Management team here at Boydens in 2015 and now manages a vast array of buildings and estates. Tom prides himself on customer service and being able to offer a consultative approach in his management style to all stakeholders whilst ensuring ARMA guideline and best practice is followed at all times. Tom is currently working towards IRPM status and is looking forward to a long career within the Boydens Leasehold and Estates Management Team.

Rebecca Smee Head of Client Accounts

Rebecca is based within our Leasehold and Estate Management Department in Colchester and manages Annual Accounts and Statutory Accounts for 70 blocks. Her role also includes preparing site budgets, Service Charge Demands and Quarterly Reporting. Rebecca provides our clients with an overview of expenditure and income of each block. Another key role is to assist any leaseholder requiring an explanation regarding their service charge. Rebecca has been an accountant for 10 years and studied at Anglia Polytechnic University obtaining a BA (hons) in Accounting with Financial Analysis. She is ACCA (part qualified) and currently sitting Part Two. In her spare time, Rebecca plays the bagpipes, which she has done since she was 13.

Angela Baines Administration Manager

Angela is the Administration Manager within our Colchester-based Leasehold and Estate Management Department. She is responsible for dealing with the legalities regarding the transfer of property and providing administrative support to 4 Property Managers and our accounts department. Angela has been working in the property industry since 1996, previously with surveyors and architects and was previously a Property Manager herself. She is the direct and only contact regarding property transfer and has lived in the area for 30 years giving her an unrivalled level of knowledge of the industry and the area.
