Will Parrick Head of Leasehold & Estate Management CIHCM

FdSc

Will leads our Leasehold & Estate Management Team, ensuring that our Property Managers are running their sites effectively and up to standard, together with taking on some of our larger sites himself. He ensures our Property Managers have the support in place to help them deliver in their role. Will is a believer in a strong customer focus and a ‘hands on’ approach and enjoys joining his team at meetings giving him the opportunity to speak to our customers face to face. Will has lived in Colchester all his life and has worked in property for most of his career. He started out in conveyancing, worked as a Property Manager managing sites locally (Halstead to Chelmsford via Colchester) and in social housing as a housing officer for Colchester. Will has also worked in customer service for Colchester Borough Council and so has a hugely varied range of experience in property supplemented by excellent local knowledge and a strong foundation in customer service. Will is a Member of Chartered Institute of Housing and holds a Foundation Degree (Distinction) in Housing. He has previously been a Community Housing Officer and a Customer Service Team Leader for Colchester Borough Homes. In his spare time Will enjoys amateur dramatics and is a multi-award winning local amateur actor.

Alex Kane Senior Property Manager

BSc (Hons)

Alex works closely with our Head of Leasehold and Estate Management Department focusing on staff training, business development and new business enquiries. Alex also manages the most demanding developments of our growing portfolio, which range from Grade 2 listed buildings to luxury apartment blocks with concierge. Alex has experience in overseeing major works/section 20 and is fully up to date with the latest Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. As part of Alex's role he regularly attend AGMs, prepares service charge budgets, carries out site inspections, and prepares maintenance plans. Alex is currently working to become fully qualified under the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM). Alex joined Boydens in 2014, shortly after graduating with a BSc Building Surveying degree from Brighton. Having received training on identifying building defects, our customers can be assured that their assets are being looked after properly. Alex has built up very strong working relationships with our clients which have resulted in a service built on trust. This removes the worry from our clients as they can safely handover the responsibility of running their buildings to us. Alex was born in Colchester and raised in Coggeshall until the age of 7. His parents then moved out into the countryside near Felsted, where he was educated. Alex's familiarity with the local area helps him relate to our customers and their needs.

John Lamm Property Manager

John is responsible for co-ordinating and managing all services and maintenance contracts and for communicating with clients and leaseholders in line with contracted management agreements. He carries out regular site inspections, sets client budgets, chairs AGM’s and, in the day to day running of a site/block, is the first point of contact when any issues arise. John has been in the property business for over 12 years in one form or another. He has lived in the Frinton/Kirby Cross area for 28 years and started property developing in 2004 until 2010 and then moved to become a Property Manager for a private letting company whose clients were solely Ministry of Defence personnel. He remained in this role for over 4 years. Before starting at Boydens John was a Leasehold Property Manager for a leading national provider of housing for people aged 55 and over. Having worked in different areas of the Property Business John has built up a great understanding of many of the issues faced on a day-to-day basis from customers/clients and how to deal with them. Having great customer service and an understanding of what your clients need are key to being successful in Property Management roles - qualities which John holds in abundance. In his spare time, John enjoys eating out as much as possible and going on holiday.

Angela Baines Administration Manager

Angela is the Administration Manager within our Colchester-based Leasehold and Estate Management Department. She is responsible for dealing with the legalities regarding the transfer of property and providing administrative support to 4 Property Managers and our accounts department. Angela has been working in the property industry since 1996, previously with surveyors and architects and was previously a Property Manager herself. She is the direct and only contact regarding property transfer and has lived in the area for 30 years giving her an unrivalled level of knowledge of the industry and the area.

Tom Bartlett Property Manager

FdSc, BA (Hons)

Tom began his property management career in 2012 when he stepped into the role of Assistant Property manager for a multi-national Student housing provider whilst studying at university . Using the skills and knowledge gained over a two year contract and wanting to experience the residential side of property management Tom took the post of Property Manager for Leaders in which he oversaw the full cycle of a portfolio of 200 rented properties. With a driving desire to develop his knowledge and progress into Block Management, Tom joined the Leasehold and Estates Management team here at Boydens in 2015 and now manages a vast array of buildings and estates. Tom prides himself on customer service and being able to offer a consultative approach in his management style to all stakeholders whilst ensuring ARMA guideline and best practice is followed at all times. Tom is currently working towards IRPM status and is looking forward to a long career within the Boydens Leasehold and Estates Management Team.

Rebecca Smee Head of Client Accounts

Rebecca is based within our Leasehold and Estate Management Department in Colchester and manages Annual Accounts and Statutory Accounts for 70 blocks. Her role also includes preparing site budgets, Service Charge Demands and Quarterly Reporting. Rebecca provides our clients with an overview of expenditure and income of each block. Another key role is to assist any leaseholder requiring an explanation regarding their service charge. Rebecca has been an accountant for 10 years and studied at Anglia Polytechnic University obtaining a BA (hons) in Accounting with Financial Analysis. She is ACCA (part qualified) and currently sitting Part Two. In her spare time, Rebecca plays the bagpipes, which she has done since she was 13.
